April 5 is Fortuna, the Festival of Good Luck.

It was celebrated in ancient Rome to honor Fortuna, also known as Fors Fortuna (equivalent to the Greek goddess Tyche), the goddess of fate, change, fortune, and the personification of luck. She had different aspects such as Fortuna Annonaria for the luck of the harvest, Fortuna Belli for the fortune of war, and Fortuna Romana for the fortune of Rome.

Today was for Fortuna Publica, fortune of the people. In Rome, most festivals included ludi (games) and religious ceremonies. Businesses closed for the day and slaves were given a break from labor.
