Dandelion Day

April: Dandelion Day

Dandelion Day

Dandelion Day, colloquially known as D-Day, was founded in 1951 by the Chairman of Traditions at the University of Rochester. It was established to provide an annual respite around final exams. It evolved over the years from simple field activities to a carnival. The dandelion is the University of Rochester’s official emblem, and “dandelion yellow” is the school color. It’s traditionally held the last weekend before classes end.
