National Pharmacists Day is celebrated on the 2nd Thursday in January.
There’s no proof, but we suspect that this day was created by a pharmacology association of some type. It’s a good day to educate youngsters about the importance of the pharmacist. Pharmacists receive a university-level education to understand the biochemical mechanisms of drugs, drug uses, and their therapeutic roles, side effects, potential drug interactions, and monitoring parameters. They are now an integral part of patient care.
If you visit your pharmacist today, make sure to say thank you and wish him or her well.
