3 cups chopped apples (use a variety of apples for a depth of flavor)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon apple snapps or vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pie crust, unbaked
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 375.
Add sour cream, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of the flour, apple snapps and salt; mix well.
Stir in the apples and pour into pie shell.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Combine butter, brown sugar and the remaining flour.
Sprinkle over the pie.
Return pie to the oven and bake 25 minutes more.
Cool completely on a wire rack.
Serve or refrigerate until needed.
