2-1/2 quarts water
1/2 cup crab boil
2 teaspoons salt
4 ears of corn, halved
4 small potatoes, halved
2 small onions, halved
2 lemons, quartered
2-1/2 pounds live hard-shell crabs
2 pounds shrimp
In a very large pot bring 2-1/2 quarts of water, crab boil, and salt to a boil.
Add corn, potatoes, onion, and lemons to the pot.
Return to boiling.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 10 minutes.
Rinse crabs and shrimp in water.
Add crabs to pot; return to boiling.
Reduce heat, cover, and cook 8 minutes.
Add shrimp to pot, cover and cook 8 minutes more or until all the shellfish is cooked.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the contents to a serving platter.
