Whiskey_SourAugust 29th is National Whiskey Sour Day. Some people also celebrate it on August 25th.

The whiskey sour (or whisky sour)  is a mixed alcoholic drink containing whiskey (often Bourbon), lemon juice, and sugar. It is shaken and served either straight or over ice and is traditionally garnish with half an orange slice and a maraschino cherry. The oldest recorded mention of a whiskey sour was in a Wisconsin newspaper in 1870.

It is an IBA (International Bartenders Association) Official Cocktail.

Whiskey Sour Recipe
2 ounces bourbon whiskey
1 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce lemon juice
slice of orange
1 maraschino cherry

Add ingredients in to a shaker with ice and shake to combine. Strain into a an ice filled Old Fashioned glass garnished with an orange slice and cherry.
