February 19th is National Chocolate Mint Day.
Chocolate flavored with mint or mint studded with chocolate or chocolate filled with mint are all chocolate mints. The chocolate may be dark, milk, or white. The mint may be spearmint, peppermint, or crème de menthe. There is no standard. It is a popular flavor in candy, cookies, ice cream, and hot chocolate.
The most famous chocolaty, minty product is the Girls Scouts Thin Mint Cookies (originally called Chocolate Mints). It was one of the first cookies they came out with in 1951, and still ranks among their top sellers. Other popular chocolate-mint concoctions are grasshopper pie and a grasshopper martinis.
