This hot dog popular in Seattle, Washington is topped with cream cheese!

for each
1 ounce cream cheese, softened
1 Polish sausage (or hot dog)
1 hot dog bun
cooked onions*
brown mustard
sauerkraut, optional

Grill or boil hot dogs until done. Warm buns on the grill or in the oven.

The assembly:

  • Spread cream cheese on warmed bun.
  • Place sausage in bun.
  • Top with onions, mustard, and sauerkraut.

*Melt 1/4 cup butter in a pan over medium heat. Add one thinly sliced Walla Walla or other sweet onion and cook slowly until the onion has softened and turned a deep brown, about 15 minutes.
