White grape juice may be substituted for champagne.
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
zest of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon chopped mint
2 cups mixed berries
2 cups champagne
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Add zest and mint.
Turn off and let cool for a few minutes.
Combine fruit and pour syrup over them.
Let sit at let 30 minutes or overnight.
Put berry mixture into tall stemmed glasses.
Pour champagne over berries at the table for great presentation.
Garnish with mint.
